The multi-talented Malaysian star, ALVN, is ready to unveil his highly anticipated full studio album, ‘between the lines’, marking a significant milestone in his career.
The album kicks off with the poignant track ‘rescue me’, a collaborative effort between Hyuk Shin and Seann Bowe on the composition, and Bowe and ALVN himself on the lyrics. The song, arranged by CUURLEY and produced by Hyuk Shin, delves into a deeply personal theme that resonates strongly with ALVN.
‘The song explores the feeling of believing love isn’t meant for you, particularly when surrounded by loved ones experiencing love, marriage, and parenthood,’ ALVN explains. ‘Every attempt at a relationship seems fleeting, leading to self-doubt and questioning why love comes so easily to others.’
ALVN’s own experiences with short-lived relationships, none exceeding a year, fuel the song’s narrative. ‘After repeated disappointments, you start questioning yourself, wondering why finding love feels like an insurmountable challenge,’ he reflects.
The song’s lyrics, particularly in the pre-chorus and chorus, vividly capture this sentiment: ‘People just float by, nobody stays, why is it always this way?’, ‘I’ve been trapped in this place too long’, and ‘It’s like heaven built a prison for me’.
