Kuala Lumpur, 8 September 2022 – Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan, YAB Dato’ Seri Haji Aminuddin Bin Harun, was present for the official joint venture collaboration between local Precision Metal Parts Manufacturer Metalmach Micro Technology (MMT) and Auxiliary Materials partner from China, Future Hover Industrial Co., Ltd (Future Hover), to invest RM1 billion in making Malaysia the preferred location for semiconductor exports in Southeast Asia and the rest of the world.

As a result of this agreement, both parties will pool their top-tier technology and resources to provide the industry with a one-stop shop. This is accomplished by merging MMT’s 40 years of precision machining, mould dies, and semiconductor development knowledge with Future Hover’s highly competitive consumables and auxiliary materials, as well as its competence in semiconductor testing and packaging, all under one roof.

Joint Venture Collaboration between Metalmach Micro Technology (MMT) & Future Hover Industrial Co., Ltd (Future Hover), witnessed by YAB Dato’ Seri Haji Aminuddin Bin Harun, Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan

Beginning with the construction of an all-inclusive and complete factory that will soon be established in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, the domestic brand and its Chinese rival will invest a combined RM 1 billion in order to earn RM 10 billion in export income within the next ten years. More than 500 employment will be created in the area, and this will act as a hub for regional and international suppliers to get more affordable goods with shorter lead times. In doing so, the two parties seek to offer technical training and in-depth industrial knowledge in an effort to support the development of a sizable skilled worker population in Negeri Sembilan and our nation.

Ms. Guan Mei Ying, General Manager of Future Hover, commented saying, “Malaysia serves as an ideal location for us to anchor in the Southeast Asia region not only because of its supportive government but also factors such as the educated workforce, strategic location, and developed infrastructure that can most definitely bring a huge impact to our operations. While this collaboration will indefinitely result in a multitude of job opportunities for Malaysians, I look forward to seeing the greatness that we can achieve together as a result of combining the knowledge, expertise, and resources of two great nations.”

During the press conference, it was disclosed that with this agreement, MMT would be able to develop its presence in the China market, delivering current services to industry participants in the region and contributing to the export sales and demand for Malaysian products and services.

Mr. Low Kim Yoong, Operation Director of Metalmach Micro Technology

Mr. Low Kim Yoong, Operations Director of MMT, said, “With the increasing demand and tremendous expansion of the semiconductor sector within Southeast Asia, this collaboration will not only strengthen the position of both companies within the region but also enhance Malaysia’s already favorable position in the supply chain and enable our beloved country to be the priority choice for semiconductor production globally. This joint venture collaboration will enable us to handle everything from the front end to the back end of semiconductor assembly, making us one of the strongest players in the semiconductor industry supply chain.”

“We look forward to providing superior support and cost-efficient solutions for industry players across the globe as well as contributing to the growth of our nation, with the commencement of this joint venture collaboration,” he concluded.

Ms. Guan Mei Ying was unable to attend the official signing ceremony due to the lockdowns in China; as a result, Mr. Alfred Foo, Business Director (Malaysia) of Future Hover, who tirelessly worked to ensure a fruitful and successful partnership between the two parties, was chosen to stand in for the general manager of Future Hover at the main event.
