A major milestone in Asia’s industrial calendar is on the horizon as Penang prepares to host the most comprehensive manufacturing event of the year. From 23 to 25 July 2025, the Setia SPICE Convention Centre will house the 5th Electronics Manufacturing Expo Asia (EMAX), 4th Penang Manufacturing Expo (PMAX), and two new co-located shows: Semiconductor Expo Asia (SMAX) and Asia Sustainable Factories Expo (ASFAX). Organized by NRG Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd, this quartet of expos brings together the best in electronics, general manufacturing, semiconductors, and sustainable industry. The event is set to draw participants from across the globe.
The announcement was made at a press conference attended by Deputy Chief Minister II YB Jagdeep Singh Deo and NRG Exhibitions CEO Mr. Kenny Yong. Both leaders emphasized the importance of the event in driving Penang’s future economic vision. The expos are not just industry showcases—they are strategic platforms for global collaboration and innovation. This aligns with Penang’s transformation into a regional tech and sustainability leader.
Each expo within the event serves a specific yet complementary purpose. EMAX continues its legacy as a premier platform for electronics manufacturing. PMAX offers broad insights into industrial solutions and factory innovations. The newcomers, SMAX and ASFAX, bring high relevance: one focuses on the booming semiconductor sector and the other on green factory solutions and ESG.
The goal of SMAX is to cover the full semiconductor pipeline—from design to materials. With chip shortages and geopolitical shifts highlighting the need for regional capacity, SMAX’s presence is timely. ASFAX, on the other hand, will address climate-focused manufacturing strategies. Attendees can expect to see renewable energy technologies, energy management systems, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
In total, the event is expected to attract over 8,000 trade professionals and more than 200 brands. Exhibitors will hail from at least 40 countries, creating a truly international environment. Live demos, AI-driven tech applications, and next-gen manufacturing tools will be on full display. The event promises not just education, but real-world solutions for industry challenges.
Networking is a key part of the experience. Visitors will benefit from industry matchmaking, business meet-ups, and investor introductions. Keynote sessions and expert panels will offer deep dives into industrial strategy, tech trends, and sustainability practices. This makes the event as intellectually rich as it is visually impressive.
Mr. Kenny Yong described the expansion of the EMAX series as a reflection of where the industry is headed. “We’re not just growing in size, we’re growing in relevance,” he said. He emphasized the importance of balancing innovation with responsibility. This sentiment is echoed in the structure of the 2025 expo—tech and sustainability standing side-by-side.
With the full support of Penang’s government and strong international interest, this four-in-one event is expected to become a cornerstone of industrial development in the region. Whether you’re in semiconductors, green manufacturing, or electronics, the 2025 expo is where tomorrow’s industry will take shape. It is a call to action for professionals ready to embrace the future. And that future is coming to Penang.
