PICO has officially unveiled OS 5.13.0, the latest software update for its flagship PICO 4 Ultra headset, bringing a host of cutting-edge features and optimizations to redefine the virtual reality experience. With a strong focus on user experience, the update enhances multiple aspects of the device, including the panoramic screen workspace, motion tracking, AI-powered virtual environments, and overall image and sound quality, setting a new standard for immersive technology.
“With OS 5.13.0, we continue to push the boundaries of virtual reality, introducing smarter interactions, enhanced AI-driven environments, and groundbreaking performance upgrades,” said Allen An, Regional Director of PICO APAC. “This update reinforces our commitment to delivering an unparalleled VR experience, making virtual worlds more intuitive, engaging, and lifelike.”
One of the key improvements in OS 5.13.0 is the refined panoramic screen workspace, which now allows users to freely adjust the distance and positioning of windowed applications. This customization boosts multitasking efficiency, offering a seamless experience for work, entertainment, and creative projects. The photo gallery has also received a significant upgrade, introducing a new feature that converts 2D images into immersive spatial photos, with batch conversion support and compatibility with iPhone 16 spatial photos.
Motion tracking sees major enhancements with an updated algorithm that ensures greater stability, particularly when users are sitting or lying down. Additionally, the frequency of full-body motion capture data has been increased, resulting in smoother, more natural movement representation. To further improve interaction methods, PICO has introduced a gesture-only mode, allowing users to navigate their VR environment without controllers for a more intuitive and immersive experience. The control center now includes an interaction module designed to minimize gesture conflicts, improving overall usability.
The AI virtual scene feature has also been expanded, with two new stylistic environments now available for users to explore. These AI-powered scenes, offered free for a limited time, provide deeply immersive spaces ideal for socializing, relaxing, or engaging in virtual activities. Other refinements in the update include improved image quality in low-light conditions, frame interpolation for smoother visuals, and the addition of virtual viewing scenes in the video player to create a theater-like experience for video content.
With the launch of OS 5.13.0, PICO continues to lead the way in VR innovation, blending advanced technology with user-centric enhancements to deliver a more immersive, efficient, and interactive virtual reality experience. PICO encourages all users to update their headsets to explore the full potential of these exciting new features and optimizations.
