In a bold step towards smart governance, Huawei Malaysia has signed a three-way MoU with HeiTech Padu Berhad and MY E.G. Services Bhd (MyEG) to explore the development of AI-powered digital services for various government functions. This collaboration aims to bring cutting-edge technology into the core of public service delivery, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and user accessibility.
Under the agreement, Huawei will provide cloud platforms, AI solutions, and private cloud infrastructure, while HeiTech Padu and MyEG will contribute their deep domain knowledge and operational expertise in implementing government services. The initiative will focus on key public functions such as immigration management, transportation systems, and civic administration.
“Smart governance is about more than just digitization – it’s about making services more human-centric, efficient, and transparent,” said a Huawei Malaysia representative. “Together with HeiTech Padu and MyEG, we aim to reshape the public service experience for all Malaysians.”
The MoU also aligns with national priorities outlined by the National AI Office, which advocates for widespread AI adoption in governance as a means to enhance service delivery and policy-making. By using AI to automate routine processes and analyze complex data sets, the government can respond more swiftly and effectively to public needs.
This tri-party partnership underscores Malaysia’s ambition to lead in smart government services within the region and builds on an ecosystem of innovation that bridges public and private sectors. The MoU was signed in the presence of key dignitaries, symbolizing strong bilateral ties between Malaysia and China in technological collaboration.
