Tiffin with a Twist: Parkview Café Celebrates Malaysia’s Culinary Heritage

Bringing the warmth of tradition into a contemporary setting, Parkview Café at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre invites diners to embark on a heartwarming culinary journey with its latest offering, Tiffin Tales. Available now until 30 June 2025, this limited-time dining concept reintroduces the nostalgic charm of tiffin carriers through a curated menu of Malay and Nyonya dishes.

The tiffin carrier, once a fixture in Malaysian homes, was more than just a lunchbox. It was a symbol of care, community, and culinary heritage. Tiffin Tales celebrates this legacy by serving meals in authentic, stacked tiffin carriers, each layer unveiling a thoughtfully prepared dish. The menu changes weekly, ensuring a new experience with each visit.

Tiffin Tales by Parkview Café, a weekly rotating menu which brings back classic Malay and Nyonya flavours in nostalgic tiffin carriers. Perfect for sharing, Tiffin Tales Set A features beloved classics including Nyonya Pai Tee, Nyonya Asam Udang, Chicken Curry Kapitan, Nasi Bunga Telang and Sago Gula Melaka.

Diners can expect to savour dishes such as Nyonya Pai Tee, Chicken Curry Kapitan, Nyonya Asam Udang, Nasi Bunga Telang, Rendang Daging Nyonya, Sambal Udang Petai, Nasi Bawang Putih and the beloved traditional dessert, Sago Gula Melaka. The menu is designed for two, offering a shared experience that echoes the communal spirit of Malaysian dining.

Executive Chef Hisham Jaafar, who conceptualised the experience, explained that the inspiration came from cherished memories of family meals shared from tiffin carriers. He expressed that opening a tiffin carrier as a child and discovering each dish was a joyful moment, one that he hopes to recreate for diners through Tiffin Tales.

Priced at RM90 nett, the Tiffin Tales experience offers more than just delicious food. The setting enhances the journey, with Parkview Café providing a scenic dining environment that features a panoramic view of the Petronas Twin Towers. Located on the Centre’s first floor, the café offers a tranquil escape in the heart of the city.

Guests are encouraged to document their experience, tagging @pvc.klcc on Instagram or @parkview café on Facebook, and using the hashtag #TiffinTales to share their culinary memories.
