Following China’s remarkable GDP growth in Q1 2023, investors anticipate a gradual resurgence in China’s manufacturing sector. As a result, it is not surprising that major firms from the additive manufacturing, powder metallurgy, and advanced ceramics sectors have registered for Formnext + PM China to capitalise on the rich prospects. The exhibition, which is expected to attract 300 exhibitors, will take place over 20,000 square metres at the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Centre from August 29 to August 31, 2023.

In April, China announced its gross domestic product (GDP) had grown by 4.5% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2023, exceeding market forecasts. While consumption represented the strongest growth, investment rose 7% year-on-year in the manufacturing sector. Industrial production recorded a steady growth: up 3.9% in March, compared with 2.4% in the January-to-February period.[1] Market analysts and industry players have raised their expectations to the performance of the manufacturing industry in China.

In addition, according to the Chinese government’s strategy and direction of high-quality development, the manufacturing industry has been positioned as one of the main driving forces of economic recovery. As a manufacturing hub with many industrial clusters and home to the pillar industries set out by the government, the South China market is attracting numerous suppliers to grasp the opportunities and offer advanced technologies and materials to domestic production lines.

Many leading companies have signed up for Formnext + PM China to introduce their cutting-edge technologies and equipment including high performance raw materials, innovative prototyping solutions, sintering and post processing technologies, testing equipment, high precision components and more. Some of the confirmed exhibitors by product group include:

The technical forums and informative seminars have always been a key component of Formnext + PM China and are well received by participants in every edition. Some of this year’s highlights include:

  • The Binder Jetting Additive Manufacturing Technology Forum

In recent years, binder jetting metal additive manufacturing has been highly valued in sectors such as the automotive industry, due to its huge cost advantages and high efficiency in the mass production of metal parts. Responding to the needs of industry, the organisers will once again gather experts from leading companies including HP, Wuhan Easymade, Voxelject, Longyuan AFS, Digital Metal and DEW Additive Manufacturing under one roof to discuss binder spray forming technology. In doing so they intend to promote the application of this technology across the entire Greater Bay Area, enhancing the transformation from traditional manufacturing to smart production.

  • 3D Printing Venture Capital Investment Conference

The additive manufacturing industry has been one of the most popular investment sectors of global capital market and venture capital institutions in recent years. Jointly organised with Guangdong Materials Valley, Zhongda Venture Capital and Zhongda Innovation Valley, the organisers will screen a batch of quality additive manufacturing projects with high potential to attend. The Conference will link up innovative 3D printing companies to professional investment institutions, and promote a more comprehensive development for the additive manufacturing industry.

  • The 5th South China Injection Moulding and Additive Manufacturing Technology and Application Summit

The scope of this summit will cover the entire supply chain from fundamental materials, key components, advanced processing equipment to overall solutions. Experts from renowned research institutes and senior executives from leading materials and application companies will present their research, providing strategic insights for the development of the injection moulding and additive manufacturing industries.

  • Shenzhen International Medical Ceramic 3D Printing Application Summit

This summit will focus on six main themes: current situation and application prospects, the key to technology maturity and product performance improvement, restrictions to innovation, the traction of academic research to industrial development, original R&D achievements of companies, and the transfer and transformation of research results. Industry experts, academics and top executives have been invited to discuss the applications of ceramic 3D printing in the medical field.

  • Shenzhen International Electronic Components Industry-Academia-Research and Development Summit

Senior personnel from leading companies and professors from renowned universities have been invited to have direct conversations around the hot issues across the electronic components supply chain, such as high-performance raw materials, key devices and high-end applications.

In addition, visitors will be able to find innovative products and solutions at the Formnext + PM South China New Product Launch.
